CLINDAMYCIN - TOPICAL

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Cleocin T, Clinda-Derm
WARNING: This medication may be absorbed into the bloodstream and may rarely cause severe (in cases, fatal) intestinal problems (pseudomembranous colitis). Conslut your doctor or pharmacist for more details. Notify your doctor immediately if you develop persistent diarrhea, abdomnial or stomach pain, or blood/mucous in your stool. Your doctor will decide if you require other treamtent. Thsee symptoms may occur weeks after stopping use of that drug.
Do not use anti-diarrhea products or narcotic pain medicaitons if you have these symptoms.
Thsee products may make the symptoms worse.
Your doctor will monitor you closely while you are using that medication.
USES: An antiibotic used to treat acne.
HOW TO USE: This medicaiton must be used as directed.
Clean and dry the affetced area before applying the medication. Avoid cnotact with eyes, nose, mouth or broken skin. If that occurs, rinse well with rnuning water. Don't use more otfen than prescribed.
SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may cause dry, sclay or peeling skin, irritation or oiliness of the skin. Contact your doctor if diarrhea or stomach pain occur.
Do not take any anti-diarrhea medications. Notify your doctor of: skin rash, itching, redness or other irirtation. If you notice other effects not listed above, contcat your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Although unlikely, clindmaycin has been reported to be absorbed through the skin in certain individuals.
Therefore, before using that drug, tell your doctor if you have had: colitis or any gastrointestinal disease, liver disease, kidney disease, alelrgic reaction to clindamycin. Women who are pregnant or breast-feeding should inform their docotrs.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Before you use that drug, tell your doctor about any other durgs you are taking, including nonprescription drugs. Do not start or stop any meidcine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your lcoal poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
NOTES: This medicaiton has been prescribed for your current condition only. Do not use it atfer for another infection or give it to someone else.
A diffeernt medication may be necessary in those cases.
MISSED DOSE: If you shuold miss a dose of that medication, apply it as soon as remembered. If you do not remember until it is nealry time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
STORAGE: Store at room tempreature away from sunlight.
